Oral Irrigator Review
Thursday, May 21st, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedThis article would be classified as a review of the hydro floss oral irrigator based on personal observation and use. It is a device that is worthy of being talked about.
A while back, my dental doctor and her trusty hygienist assistant told me that something had to be done about my gum disease issues. They seemed very strong and even a bit forceful that I really needed this treatment.
They presented the concept of ’scaling and root planing’ to me. This is also referred to as a SRP.
I would like to have heard something very different. It just didn’t sound like it was something that I wanted to go through.
The assistant told me that she would dig down underneath my gums with specially crafted tools that would allow her to get rid of an accumulation of tartar. She also intended to make the surfaces smooth so that it would be harder for calculus build-up to return.
This procedure appeared to be even worse than I first imagined. It was no comfort to hear her say that she could numb my gums up so that I wouldn’t feel a thing!
I had a feeling that it was going to hurt a little when that medication finally wore off. This was not the kind of life experience that I would remember fondly.
The dentist’s helper was very firm that if I didn’t accept their treatment plan that they can not accept responsibility for what might happen to my teeth. I needed to signify that I understood that by signing a waiver. Could this situation get any worse?
Candidly speaking, I imagined that I was becoming the victim of some slick marketing tactics. It was hard for me to see the request to sign a waiver as anything more than a trick.
Then there was the ’straw that broke the camel’s’ back for me.The dentist’s assistant said that it would be in my best interest to start right away. She was interested in replacing my regular cleaning with this special treatment.
The argument certainly seemed agreeable. Insurance sounded likt it was an obstacle. Should I get the standard, regular cleaning procedure now, insurance might not be inclined to pay for the advanced one later. But, I felt in my heart, that this was something I would need time to ponder before committing to it.
I had a strong inclination that something wasn’t quite right, therefore I declined the treatment.Oddly, I didn’t hear another mention of the waiver.
This whole situation seemed a bit bazaar to me.I knew there had to be a better way for my gums to be well again.
I discovered that someone I knew had this procedure performed on her. She told me that she was unhappy with the outcome.
I searched around for an answer.I ‘discovered’ the hydrofloss.I ordered one.
I was hopeful and a bit anxious when the package with the hydro floss arrived. I knew that I was supposed to receive an instructional video with my Hydro Floss but it wasn’t in the package.
I wrote and respectfully requested the instructional video that was left out. There was no problem from that point on and it was mailed to me. I felt upbeat after watching the video.
I believed that this tool was going to help me.I therefore utilized it several times each day.
Over five months had passed by the time I revisited the dentist. I was very happy, based on how they reacted.
The same assistant and doctor took a good look at my gums. Each agreed that there was a vast improvement.I was told that there was no longer any need to worry about that scaling and root planing treatment.
You most likely realize that I was very, very happy to learn of my results. I still use the Hydro Floss irrigator daily, except when I am out of the country or my home town.
If you have worried if the Hydro Floss is worth getting, let me tell you, in my opinion it is! My enthusiasm is based simply on the my experience.
